Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project - Public Environmental Review
Public Review Period: 16 January 2017 to 13 February 2017
Sheffield Resources Limited is proposing to undertake mining of mineral sands, over a potential mine life of more than 40 years; from the Thunderbird depositin the northern region of Western Australia. The mineral sands products will be transported to the towns of Derby and Broome, and exported through their respective Ports.
Sheffield Resources Limited has prepared the Public Environmental Review (PER) in accordance with EPA procedures and is released for public review. The PER examines the environmental effects associated with the proposed development, in accordance with Western Australian Government procedures. The PER describes the proposal, examines the likely environmental effects and the proposed environmental management procedures.
